Manic Mondays: Give Mondays a break!
Manic Mondays, Episode 96
Date: February 19, 2007
Full episode: Some New Music Previews
Summary: What did Monday ever do to hurt anybody? Should Monday take crap because some people don’t like going back to work on Monday?
I suppose I should learn to empathize, though. If I had a job, I might not appreciate Mondays, either.
Actually, I did have a job once, but I didn’t like it very much. You couldn’t pay me to get another job, that’s how much I didn’t like it!
He’s a comic musician and a podcaster!
Nevertheless, here’s an interesting fact: Among the scattered Dr. Demento-spawned Web radio shows and podcasts, Tom Rockwell’s Manic Mondays is the rare program whose host is himself an accomplished Demento artist.
The genial Rockwell is front man for Sudden Death, a comedy hip-hop band featured more than 50 times on the Dr. Demento Show. Manic Mondays opens here with my own Today Was A Very Good Day and concludes after a brief 18 minutes.
On a weekly basis, the program features three or four songs, a “News of the Stupid” segment and the occasional interview. Rockwell displays a notable sensitivity to his guest artists, spelling out my name so listeners can easily find my site.

Free registration is required to download Manic Mondays from The Mad Music Archive, a site dedicated to Dr. Demento artists. Administrator Captain Wayne hosts his own Demento-themed Mad Music Show.
Sudden Death is also part of the emerging Funny Music Project (FuMP), a Demented collective that releases new songs every week under the Creative Commons license.
