Big Phil plugs the heck out of The Best Of The Red Peters Comedy Music Hour, Volume 1 from Oglio Records, due out September 11 and featuring my magnum opus, Her Shit Don’t Stink.
“Don’t forget the Red Peters compilation on which Ken Turetzky’s song appears,” Phil exhorts the listeners. “You can do that at ooglio…ahglio…ooglio…oglio…whatever the fuck it is, dot-com.”
That’s what I’m talkin’ about. That’s the way to promote. Thanks, Phil! Continue reading

Knit free or Die!
So, I’m sending my latest recording, I’ll Get Old And Die, around to a few podcasts, and my friend Theresa at Knitting Time Together mistakenly gets the idea that it’s her new theme song.
You know what, though? Our miscommunication turns out to be serendipitous, because on her third or fourth listen, the pieces all fall together and Theresa realizes that I’ll Get Old And Die is the perfect theme song for a podcast about knitting, and that I was thinking about knitting when I wrote the song! I’ll Get Old And Die another day
I’ll Get Old And Die took a bye week, came back refreshed and has vaulted into the No. 7 spot on the Mad Music Dementia Top 20 countdown.
This is the fourth appearance on the MMDT20 for I’ll Get Old And Die, which surfaced in the No. 2 spot on July 20.
Slow as I am to produce new music, I’ll Get Old And Die will have to carry me for a while.
Chris Wilkinson, on the other hand, takes his Volume Brothers moniker literally, contributing two new songs this week to the “New Strokes” portion of host David Tanny’s comedy music podcast. Continue reading

Oglio taps Stink for Red Peters CD
I’m on the phone with Red Peters when his call waiting beeps. He asks me to hang on for a moment.
“Brenda’s not here,” Red says after a pause. “She’s takin’ a dump.”
“Who’s Brenda?” I ask when Red returns.
“I have no fuckin’ idea,” he says. “Wrong number.”
That’s Red Peters, the smoothly profane songwriter and performer and host of the Red Peters Comedy Music Hour on Sirius Radio Howard 101. Continue reading

Starving dogs and exciting music news!
Here’s some interesting, although perhaps unsurprising, news about Oklahoma City, courtesy of Big Phil, host of Big Phil’s Love Parade.
While most people clean up their houses a bit before calling a Realtor — perhaps slap a little paint on the walls, update the countertops, hose the blood off the driveway — in OKC, sellers take a slightly different approach.
In OKC, it seems, nothing says “Buy Me” better than a pack of starving dogs abandoned in the back yard! It’s true! Check out the new Love Parade and hear Phil’s house-hunting story for yourself. Continue reading
