Slow but hilarious — that’s me!

The Awful Show Podcast

The Awful Show, Episode 61

Date: August 17, 2007

Full episode: Episode 61 (Turetzky Syndrome)

Summary: My appearance on The Awful Show has already won new fans, who overlooked a laconic persona to heap eloquent praise on my generic comedy music product:

Ken,

Mike from The Awful Show gifted me with a download of your album, and I must say, it is extraordinary. Rarely in today’s bloated and saturated music-scape is there such a fine blend of wit and talent. I am still laughing.

Thanks to Tha Mike and the Awful Show cast for the birthday gift and the opportunity to hear new and obscure artists. Keep it coming, and Ken — Make more!

Cheers,

Chris-GEN

All right, so it’s one guy. But still, as Chris-GEN explained, he’s still laughing. And I did the show, what, five days ago? Still laughing.

A clusterfu*k of fun!

My conversation with Nerraux, Tha Mike and Keyz covered a whole bunch of subjects, including outraged audience reaction to some of my songs, the upcoming Red Peters-Oglio Records project, Dr. Demento (Yes, he’s still alive), overexposed comedy music parodist Seamonkey, the RIAA and more.

“This was pretty much just a general clusterfu*k of fun,” Tha Mike writes, needlessly censoring his own profanity. “Ken Turetzky set a slow but hilarious pace.”

The comparisons begin

That’s slow, as in “very Steven Wright-ish,” according to Tha Mike.

OK, I’ll take that. Steven Wright-ish. I like Steven Wright! He’s funny! And slow, just like me.

The boys closed my segment with The Ballad Of Morris The Cat.

“Do you know where you can find a Turret-ski?” asked Keyz. “On a Polish tank!” Baddump-bum, as they say.

A fine blend of wit and talent  (27:43).
