Oglio taps Her Shit Don’t Stink
for Best Of Red Peters Show CD

I’m on the phone with Red Peters when his call waiting beeps. He asks me to hang on for a moment.

“Brenda’s not here,” Red says after a pause. “She’s takin’ a dump.”

“Who’s Brenda?” I ask when Red returns.

“I have no fuckin’ idea,” he says. “Wrong number.”

That’s Red Peters, the smoothly profane songwriter and performer and host of the Red Peters Comedy Music Hour on Sirius Radio Howard 101.

Now, just in time for the anniversary of the Twin Towers disaster, that enterprise is set to yield
The Best Of The Red Peters Comedy Music Hour, Volume 1, from Oglio Records.

The album, available online, at record stores (if you can find one) and on iTunes, features 19 tracks from the show, most notably my own Her Shit Don’t Stink.

Red calls his collection “the filthiest and funniest collection of songs ever recorded.” But you knew he’d say that.

Release date is September 11, 2007, better known as 9/11.

“We thought people would need a laugh on that day,” Oglio President Carl Caprioglio told me. Oglio recently released comedy albums by Andy Dick, George Lopez and Jackie Martling, and offers a back catalog of music CDs by such artists as Brian Wilson.

“You and your friends will laugh so hard, you’ll shit your pants. I guarantee it,” is Red’s catchphrase on a series of promotional videos for Best Of.

OK, I’m laughing, and I’m shitting my pants, too, Carl and Red. I mean, if there’s anything I can do, just let me know. Whatever it takes to sell some albums!
