Comedy isn’t always funny

Rev. Zack’s been riding a mellow groove with the Comedy Music Cellar podcast, sleepily exhorting listeners to “open up your heart(s) and let the lunacy in.”
But Zack’s also something of a sleeper among Demented music podcast hosts, proving to be flexible and adaptive in the face of competition for funny music listeners.
For a while there, playlists remained static even as the number of funny music hours grew. (With the addition of Bofore Radio, the Mad Music Archive now hosts six programs).
Looking to break out, Zack announced, “I’m…trying to do a bit of a re-format so I don’t sound like all the other comedy shows out there. I want to include songs that are just humorous that aren’t necessarily fully in the comedy genre.”
Please listen to these songs about shit
With that, Zack played such rarities as River Of Shit by Paul Fritzler, Deep Doo Doo by Slodad and One Monkey Don’t Stop The Show by 1 Brick Daniels. Not a FuMP song in the bunch.
And then he played more of the same old crap with I’ll Get Old And Die.
“We’ll give an extra plug here for Ken Turetzky because he’s done the same for me a couple of times,” Zack told his listeners.
In response, I whipped up this puff piece about the Comedy Music Cellar.
My songs are better than your songs
Why? Because Rev. Zack is beginning to figure out that “comedy” music isn’t always funny, and is easily outclassed by music that happens to use humor to deliver a message of real value.
Yeah, I’m talking about my music. So what?
