“That was the fabulous Ken Turetzky, my old friend,” says Big Phil after spinning Fly Me To The Moon on his very special and highly anticipated Music Show No. 8.

“Perhaps he’s a big Jerry Lewis fan,” Phil suggests. “I don’t know. But that’s a Sinatra song he sang in the style of Jerry Lewis.”

Am I a big Jerry Lewis fan? Well, let’s see. Do I trip noisily over trash cans and shriek the name Feldman!, that shriek escalating into the primal scream of a 9-year-old who has suddenly realized that one day he is going to die?

Yeah, I think I’m a Jerry Lewis fan.

Jerry Lewis, “whose best works I think are on the Labor Day Telethon,” Phil rattles on blithely. “I kid, I kid; I love Jerry Lewis. Particularly The Nutty Professor, the original? I think that was an excellent film.”

Phil, you don’t know Jerry Lewis. So don’t even try. He’s too complicated.

Just realize that he only goes a little crazy every now and then because he has to. If he didn’t, then he wouldn’t be Jerry Lewis, would he?

Feldman!

Perhaps he’s a big Jerry Lewis fan  (0:49).
