Mad Music Comedy Zone podcastDavid Tanny is the former proprietor of the Mad Music Dementia Top 20, a program he abandoned at the end of 2007 after voters drove him meshugeneh by demanding the same songs week after endless week.

My own (Jerry Lewis) Fly Me To The Moon, for example, rode the charts for the final 10 weeks of the year. Enough already!

But Dave returned anew in January with the Mad Music Comedy Zone, a weekly, two-hour show that offers a wider range of content and more closely resembles his old I Still Get Demented show, a comedy staple on streaming radio network Live365.

I bestow my seal of approval

I gave DT a few months to work out the bugs before shipping him a copy of People I Know, which Dave kindly promoed one week and then played on the following edition of the MMCZ as part of his New Strokes segment.

For those who demand the opportunity to stuff the ballot box in support of your favorite comedy songs, Dave closes the show with a little something called the No. 1 Dementiamania Song of the Week.

Listeners may vote (legally) once a day to select the top song. People I Know is on the Dementiamania ballot, so get on over to Dave’s site and show your support.

And while you’re at it, request (Jerry Lewis) Fly Me To The Moon, People I Know and more of my songs from Dr. Demento. He’s still got a weekly show, too!
