DT introduces my new song (wink, wink)!

Hey, guess what? I have a new song out!

It’s so new, in fact, that I didn’t even know I had a new song until David Tanny played it on his show!

What happened was, I fixed a few problems with (Jerry Lewis) Fly Me To The Moon, hoisting my MP3 up on the rack and fiddling a bit with the volume and EQ.

This is all dull recording engineer stuff, but your ears are going to thank me.

Dave sends a message

Anyway, I sent the song to DT, with a nice note telling him how much I loved his Mad Music Comedy Zone podcast, etc., and next thing I know, he’s posted the track on his Dementiamania ballot as (Jerry Lewis) Fly Me To The Moon 2008 Remake!

Now, is Dave just creating excuses to resurrect my old songs, or is he subtly suggesting I record some new ones already?

Whatever the reason, I’ve decided to play along. I’m encouraging everybody to visit the Dementiamania ballot and vote for my new song!

And while you’re at it, please request Fly Me To The Moon from Dr. Demento!

What’s Dave eating?

I’d like to change the subject now and talk about the various distractions Dave allows himself while he’s supposed to be recording his show.

During football season, for instance, he’s always got a ballgame on TV in the background. That’s bad enough, but this week, I swear I can hear him eating before he introduces my song. He’s smacking his lips, for God’s sake!

Listen to the first audio clip below and you’ll hear what I mean. To dispel any doubt, I’ve enhanced Dave’s lip-smacking in the second sound clip.
