Moist and airy
Big Phil’s in the bathroom this episode, making moist, airy sounds while “The Morning Poop” drones in the background, ostensibly dissecting the humanitarian crisis in Darfur.
Her Shit Don’t Stink has never been so embarrassed by its surroundings. Whatever would inspire a program host to abuse my tender love song in such a manner? Surely not the title.
Thankfully, Big Phil refrains from blasting another wet one until the last note fades. He follows up with a theme-appropriate melody from from Lynn Julian, If Farts Were Made of Super Ball Stuff. Continue reading

Where do I sign up to meet Jesus?
Taylor Kent is comfortable with his faith and tempers Snark Infested Waters’ religious message with a healthy irreverence. Or maybe that’s just his cynical plan to convert the unbelievers.
But I’m hooked. Where do I sign up to meet Jesus? This edition marks a satisfying return to the podcast, which featured The Ballad Of Morris The Cat on January 11 as part of Episode 107.
Telephone guest J. David Baker, director of Reserve Spy Training Corps, consumes most of the program. He’s seeking a mainstream audience for his “Christian Spy Thriller,” and good luck with that. Continue reading

AC Podcast: Stink has a Second Life
Chris Hambly hosts the AC Sound Engineering Podcast from the UK, and I highly recommend this program for all home recording enthusiasts who prefer their tutorials delivered in a decisively British brogue.
Still, even when you can’t understand what anyone is saying, you can tell they’re having a really good time!
Throughout the show, Chris and his chatty guests provide examples of various techniques to improve the music they record in living rooms, bedrooms, basements and occasionally, an actual studio. Continue reading

Milk, cookies and Morris
First chance I get, I’m heading over to Baby Boomin’ Mama Laurie’s and her daughter Joanna’s house for milk and cookies.
They’re so sweet, I’m certain the pair started the Random Fandom podcast just to share another fun family activity, delivered “almost live from Corpus Christi, Texas, on the Nueces Bay.”
Random Fandom featured The Ballad Of Morris The Cat on a rare all-music podcast, although I can’t help wondering if my song might have better fit the previous week’s topic: The Cat’s Meow.

Happy Fuckin’ Anniversary
Schnauzer Logic celebrated its first anniversary on February 1, and in typical insecure faux celebrity fashion, I dropped a very special greeting in host Robin Diane Goldstein’s voice mailbox.
“We love Ken Turetzky. He’s the half-brother from the other mother we never knew we had,” Robin said in response, providing the affirmation I so desperately need.
Robin has been considering an offer to share the podcast with her former radio home, KSCO in Santa Cruz, Calif. I’ve advised against the move on the grounds that my trademark phrase, “cocksucker motherfucker!”, would be bleeped on FCC-patrolled terrestrial radio. Continue reading
