Date: August 4th 2008
Hello, Everyone.
Irreverent is the key word as I prepare for my appearance as featured performer at the Free Dallas Music! Songwriters' Open Mic, from 7-9 p.m. CDT Thursday, August 7, in the Community Room at Half Price Books , 5803 E. Northwest Highway in Dallas.
Nancy Moore writes in the Dallas Morning News GuideLive:
Ken Turetzky's songs are the type you'd hear on the Dr. Demento radio show. His song The Ballad Of Morris The Cat has a Western ghost-town twist with an irreverent plot line about a cat's rise to stardom and its "last meow."
Adds co-host (with husband Tom) Jennifer Mansfield Peal :
Get ready for Ken Turetzky's irreverent wit and musical humor! We have enjoyed Ken every time he's appeared at FDM!SOM and are pleased to be able to present his music in an extended set.
I'll be irreverent, all right, but respectful. Not because I want to be, but because the show is in a bookstore, and families visit bookstores, which means…sigh!…no Her Shit Don't Stink.
But it doesn't matter what I play, really. All that matters is that people will be watching me.
Hope you can make it!
Call (214) 379-8000 for more details.
Ken
